How to receive a ChatGPT (OpenAI) verification code
- Sign in to SMSPing and search for the service "OpenAI".

Before you use a virtual number for ChatGPT
- OpenAI sets its own number rules. OpenAI's Help Center says it doesn't support VoIP numbers (such as Google Voice) and limits how many times one number can be used for API key verification. See OpenAI's notes on VoIP numbers and how many times a number can be used.
- If a number is rejected, switch country or carrier. Cancel the order and try another country or carrier.
- No SMS, no charge. While waiting you can request a cancellation. If the order is cancelled or times out without receiving an SMS, the charge returns to your SMSPing balance (once per order; balance can't be withdrawn). Orders that already received an SMS can't be cancelled for a refund. See pricing and refunds.
- Numbers are temporary. A number only receives SMS while the order is active, so it isn't suitable as a long-term number for logging in or account recovery.

ChatGPT verification code not received?
First check that the number and country code you entered on OpenAI are correct, and that you actually pressed send on OpenAI's page. If nothing arrives before the order expires, cancel it or let it time out; once the balance is refunded, try another carrier or country.
